1874 1C PR65 Red Cameo PCGS. The proof 1874 was produced to the extent of at least 700 pieces--a respectable, if not overly generous total for the era. While survivors are generally available in lower grades, fully lustrous Gems are few and far between in today's market. The PCGS population of Cameo examples is even smaller with just two coins in PR65 Red and one PR66 Red specimen finer (10/02). The eye appeal of the present example is virtually unimprovable. Both sides are fully lustrous with full orange-red luster and deeply set olive tinged undertones. Every device is fully brought up with a frosty textured finish, while the fields, which are equally free of distracting hairlines, display deep mirrored reflectivity. A few small, scattered carbon flecks are noted. Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. Sometimes eBay Premier live bid software cannot keep up with that pace, so we strongly recommend that you place a realistic proxy bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Premier carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
