1874 1C MS65 Red PCGS. As the mintages for Cents began to increase in the 1870s, quality control was irregular at best. This date is known to have streaky toning because of improperly mixed bronze alloy. However, this piece has even red coloration over both sides with no mellowing. Fully struck and problem-free throughout with no obvious surface impairments other than a carbon spot in the wreath to the right of the T in CENT. Population: 25 in 65, 5 finer (1/03).From the Colburn Collection. Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. On occasion eBay live bid software cannot keep up with the pace of the auctions where 4-5 lots per minute can hammer down, so we recommend that you place a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Live carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
