1873 Winchester lever-action rifle, .38-40 caliber, 32” octagon barrel, full magazine, with dual barrel bands, rifle butt, brown patina finish with traces of blue mixed in, serial #293431B. The rifle shows approx. 10-20% blue mixed in with a browning patina, some scattered erosion and pinprick pitting, generally good metal surfaces, some scratches, mars, etc, good barrel address, some light cleaning around the barrel address and end of muzzle, the rifle is missing its front sight blade and rear sight elevator. The stocks show some dings, mars, scratches, small losses, carved “M” initial carved like two mountain peaks, with an X in the middle and may be a brand. Some small losses of wood at the edges and wood generally good. The rifle shows some old replaced screws and the lever screw has been replaced by a pin. The action is loose, the bore is fair to poor. Extra long 73’s are scarce and desirable with only a few of the double barrel bands being produced in the 32, 34, and 36 lengths. A rare Winchester with a frontier look. Est: $3,000 - $6,000
