1873 Winchester With 24" Round Barrel With Full Length Mag, SN 507889B, According to A Letter From Ben Lane Past President Of The Prestigious Engravers Association, He Purchased This Rifle From The Widow Of Charles "Tex" Crosset Who Was A Arizona Ranger And Later A Deputy Sheriff In Several Texas Counties In His Lifetime. In 1968 Lane Restocked The Rifle With Bastongne Walnut (Note Grain Seems To Run Both Ways) And Engraved It In The Nimske Style, But This World Class Engraver Took It To The Next Level Using 3 D Effect Engraving And Expanding The Feather Within The Feather Within The Scroll. Argumentatively There Is No Finer Engraver Than Ben Lane Who Is Currently A Contract Master Engraver For Colt. This Beautiful Rifle Was Also Carefully Used As A Movie Prop In The Movie "Winchester 73". The Serial Number Places This Rifle's Mfg Date At 1897. It Is Offered By Langham Auctioneers For A Retired Collector With The Desire It Is Placed In A Collection That Will Be Shown And It's Grand Story Kept Alive.
