<B>1873 T$1 Trade Dollar, Judd-1322, Pollock-1465, R.4, PR64 PCGS.</B></I> Benson Collection. The obverse is similar to the adopted design, but with a longer base. The reverse shows a small eagle with spread wings and billowing scroll in its beak. Struck in silver with a reeded edge. Examples of this pattern were included in the six-piece sets distributed by the Mint in silver, copper, and aluminum and with plain and reeded edges. This is a magnificent, deeply mirrored and deeply toned example that has rich gray-blue color over each side with rose undertones.
