1873 T$1 PR64 PCGS. The mintage for this first year proof Trade dollar issue is listed at 865 pieces in the Guide Book, but Dave Bowers, in his silver dollar and Trade dollar Encyclopedia, indicates that the true mintage may actually be 600 pieces, based upon figures from the 1887 Annual Report of the Director of the Mint. This near-Gem specimen is covered by deep cranberry patina, with cobalt-blue accents scattered across the fields and near the borders. Razor-sharp definition is noted on all of the design motifs. A few wispy slide marks in the left obverse field limit the grade, despite being well concealed by the lavish toning. Population: 30 in 64, 6 finer (10/07).

Coin Engraver: William Barber

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
