<B>1873-S $20 Closed 3 MS62 PCGS.</B></I> The Closed 3 (or Close 3) is more common than the Open 3 variety, but Bowers points out that few collectors care about the difference, opting for a single 1873-S example. This piece offers radiant mellow orange-gold surfaces, with considerable prooflikeness on the reverse. The few light abrasions noted are grade-consistent, and the strike is sharp. Like so many so-called "common" issues in the Liberty Head double eagle series, the 1873-S is seldom seen above MS62.
