1873-S $2 1/2 MS64 PCGS. Although 27,000 quarter eagles were struck in San Francisco during the year, few have survived in Mint State grades as most or all entered circulation. For example, the Harry Bass collection had four pieces, but not one of those coins even reached MS60. This piece, a Choice Mint State example with frosty yellow and orange-gold surfaces and sharp design motifs, is one of the finest existing representatives of the date. Typical weakness is evident on the eagle's leg to the left, but all other elements are essentially full. Population: 3 in 64, 0 finer (3/07).

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
