<B>1873 S$1 PR61 PCGS.</B></I> The year 1873 was among the most historic in U.S. numismatics. Sweeping legislation outlawed the two cent, trime, half dime, and Seated dollar; introduced the Trade dollar and increased the weight of minor silver coins, due to falling silver prices. This last-year proof Seated dollar shows considerably hairlined fields, but otherwise the appeal is significant, with lustrous, well struck surfaces complementing the silver centers and iridescent pink-gray and cobalt-blue at the rims on each side.
