1873-CC S$1 VF20 PCGS. The Carson City Mint struck 11,758 silver dollars in its initial year of operation. As low as this production was, it proved to be the largest emission of Seated dollars from the facility. In fact, the combined mintage at Carson City for the 1871-CC, 1872-CC, and 1873-CC issues was less than that of the 1870-CC. The 1872-CC production of 3,150 makes it the second most available of the four CC-mint Seated dollars. It is nonetheless perhaps a hundred times scarcer than the key 1889-CC Morgan dollar. The present tan-gray piece has smooth surfaces and pleasing plumage detail. About half of LIBERTY is clear. Population: 2 in 20, 46 finer (2/07).
From The Reginald Byron Mason Collection.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
