1873-CC 50C Arrows MS66 NGC.
1873-CC 50C Arrows MS66 NGC. WB-102. Small Mintmark. The 1873-CC Arrows is the first of only six Seated Half Dollar issues that the Carson City Mint produced from 1873 forward at the new increased weight of 12.50 grams. The rarest coin in this group is the 1878-CC, followed by the 1874-CC Arrows and the 1873-CC Arrows. In reality, the difference in rarity between the latter two issues is nearly imperceptible, particularly in the higher Mint State grades. This astonishing quality, satiny Gem has speckled russet toning at the margins that lightens to golden-rose and lilac-gray across the centers. The strike displays no particular area of deficiency and the shimmering surfaces are remarkable for their silky-smooth appearance. Both advanced type collectors and Carson City specialists should take a keen interest in this important Carson City Half, currently the single finest example certified by either major service (10/03). Important notice: Heritage usually auctions material at the rate of 200-250 lots per hour. On some occasions eBay Live bid software or the Internet may not be able to keep up with the pace of the auction. We recommend placing a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Occasionally the auctioneer may eliminate or reject an eBay Live bid, and the auctioneer may also reopen a lot after the close of the eBay live bidding (usually because we missed an audience bid), and may reject your bid even if it shows you as the winning bidder. By bidding via eBay Live, you agree that Heritage may award the lot to another bidder at its sole discretion under the circumstances described above or any other reasonable circumstances. Also please note that all Heritage lots purchased through eBay Live carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions before you bid.
