<B>1873-CC $20 AU58 NGC.</B></I> This issue has the Closed 3 date logotype as always for the Carson City Mint double eagles. It is a lovely piece with essentially full luster and brilliant yellow-gold surfaces. A trace of wear on the highest points defines the grade assigned by NGC. This example is a wonderful piece that lacks the usual heavy abrasions that so often plague the early Carson City Mint gold coins. While the 1873-CC double eagle is not a date usually mentioned when rare CC gold is discussed, it is seldom found in such fine condition.
