<B>1873 $5 Open 3 MS63 PCGS.</B></I> The Open 3 variant was struck between November 19 and 29, 1873. These pieces are slightly scarcer overall than their Closed 3 counterpart, and they are notably lacking in the better grades of Mint State. Only nine other pieces have been so graded by PCGS with eight finer (4/07). The obverse of this coin is fully struck, while the reverse shows slight softness on the eagle's neck.
