<B>1873 $20 Open 3 MS63 PCGS.</B></I> This orange-gold example is thickly overlaid with icy mint frost. The obverse exhibits die doubling, particularly along the beads of the coronet and LIBERTY. The strike is well defined, despite some weakness on four or five of the stars on the obverse. Relatively plentiful in circulated grades, Type Two double eagles are notably difficult to locate in preferred Mint State grades. This piece exhibits abrasions typical for the grade, although none of them detract from the overall appearance.
