<B>1873<$20> Open 3 MS62 PCGS.</B></I> The Open 3 variety of 1873 is one of the most plentiful of all Type Two double eagles, and nearly every Mint State example is in the lowest grade level with examples such as this piece among the finest that are readily obtainable. Higher grade MS63 coins are rare and anything better is essentially impossible to locate. This lightly abraded example is fully lustrous with brilliant yellow-gold frost. It has excellent eye appeal and is an attractive piece for the grade.
