The United States half dime was produced from 1793 to 1873. This coin is the Seated Liberty type, which, when first minted in 1837 was unusual in that the obverse contained no legend, just the word Liberty embossed on a shield held by Lady Liberty. A border of stars was soon added, and later still the words "United States of America" appeared on the obverse. Although production ended in 1873, the design of the reserve appeared on Barber Dimes until 1916. JC-30101-209 JC-30309 - All items may be shipped or picked up locally within one week of sale.
