<B>1872<img border='0' src='http://www.heritagecoins.com/images/star.gif' width=10 height=10>$1> PR65 PCGS.</B></I> Doubled Reverse Die. This reverse die was first used in 1871 and reused again in 1873. It shows sharp die doubling on the motto, most especially on IN GOD WE. The surfaces have a hazy overlay of patina, but when held beneath a light pronounced reflectivity flashes through the rose-gray patina that covers each side and turns electric-blue around the margins. While the 1872 is one of the more available dates among With Motto dollars, the vast majority are MS64 or lower in grade. A mere 18 pieces have been certified by PCGS with another 10 by NGC and only 10 pieces have been graded higher by both services (one by PCGS and nine by NGC).
