1872 S$1 Dollar, Judd-1205, Pollock-1345, R.6, PR58 NGC. William Barber's "Amazonian" design. The obverse shows Liberty seated facing left, with 13 stars around, and the date below. Her right hand rests on the head of an eagle which is standing with extended wings behind her. A sword is in Liberty's left hand and her left arm rests on a shield. The reverse shows a spread-wing eagle with three arrows in its left (facing) claw, supporting a shield with its right (facing) claw. The legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA is around, and the denomination ONE DOL. is below. A scroll crosses the shield and is inscribed IN GOD WE TRUST. Struck in silver with a reeded edge. Bright and untoned, the fields still retain a glimmer of the original proof surface. A number of small contact marks are scattered over each side with the most obvious being a small cluster above the eagle's head on the reverse.Ex: Leon Goodman Collection (Herb I.
