<B>1872 G$1 MS68 Prooflike NGC.</B></I> Ex: Bareford. There is no question that this is the single finest existing business strike of the date, and among the best of the design type. Both sides are fully brilliant with rich yellow and orange-gold color. It is a sharply struck example with deeply mirrored fields and fully lustrous and frosty devices. Offered as a "brilliant proof" in Stack's catalog of the Bareford collection. However, this piece does not have quite the necessary depth of field or sharpness of strike that should exist on proofs.<BR><I>Ex: Will W. Neil (B.
