<B>1872-CC S$1 AU53 NGC.</B></I> While the phrase "Carson City silver dollar" typically conjures images of gleaming Morgan dollars, that Nevada Mint struck four Seated dollar issues as well, corresponding to its first four years of existence. The 1872-CC has the second-highest mintage among those four issues, though the production of 3,150 pieces was small even by Carson City standards. This well struck example retains a degree of luster on modestly worn, lightly abraded surfaces. The fields have gold-gray color with a touch of ice-blue at the margins and lovely rose accents.
