<B>1872-CC 25C XF45 NGC.</B></I> The 1872-CC is rare in all grades, although unlike the other No Arrows Carson City issues, it is collectible in Fine and VF grades. Since no collectors existed in the Old West to pluck Carson City quarters from circulation when they were new, high grade survivors exist only by chance. Just two pieces have been above the AU55 level, an NGC MS66 and a PCGS MS62. Even in XF, the 1872-CC is important, and such pieces are under formidable dual demand from Carson City and Seated quarter specialists. This sharp example shows traces of luster across the devices, and the streaky tan and slate-gray surfaces lack singularly mentionable marks.
