<B>1872-CC $20 AU50 NGC.</B></I> The 1872-CC is the first reasonably available Carson City double eagle, though that remark applies mostly to Extremely Fine and lesser pieces. About Uncirculated examples are scarcer than the population data might suggest, since the sizable gains for an upgrade induce numerous resubmissions. While this softly lustrous piece exhibits distinct wear, the degree is mild, and the abrasions scattered in the fields and on the well struck devices are generally small.
