1872-CC $1 AU58 NGC. Though the 1872-CC silver dollar has a mintage of 3,150 pieces, many numismatic scholars speculate that under 10% of those coins survive today in any grade. The extant pieces have varying degrees of wear, and any coin that approaches Mint State status is properly considered a condition rarity. While this piece is not strictly Mint State, it comes close, with just a trace of friction apparent on the well struck highpoints. The surfaces have subtle luster beneath deep gray-gold, sapphire, dusty rose, and blue-green patina. The fields have only a few unimportant marks, evidence of only a brief period in circulation, if that. An outstanding example of this elusive issue of Carson City silver. Census: 8 in 58, 14 finer (6/07).

Coin Engraver: Christian Gobrecht

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information\)
