<B>1872 $3 AU55 PCGS.</B></I> The 1872 has a low mintage of 2,000 pieces, and those were saved in small numbers. PCGS has certified only 27 pieces in Mint State, or about one per year of its operations, assuming that at least a few represent resubmissions. This orange-gold example has slight wear on the cheek and hair, but the surfaces are unperturbed aside from a rose-red spot on the wreath near 9 o'clock. Housed in a green label holder.
