<B>1872 25C Washington Round 25 Cents, BG-818, Low R.4, MS63 PCGS.</B></I> Everyone knows the two basic types of California fractional gold coinage, the Liberty Head and the Indian Head. Less well known are a few additional designs, each very important within the series. Among these special designs are the Washington obverse 25 cent pieces and the Eagle reverse 50 cent pieces. This example is a splendid piece with light yellow color and hints of lilac toning. The surfaces are fully lustrous and slightly reflective.
