<B>1872 $1 Octagonal 1 Dollar, BG-1120, Low R.5, MS64 Prooflike NGC.</B></I> A Period Two issue from Christopher (Christoph) Ferdinand Mohrig, a manufacturer of gold chains who likely wanted to expand into charms to be attached to them. Beautiful yellow-gold fields provide stark contrast to the deeply frosted devices on this piece. The fifth star shows light repunching. A couple of light pinscratches travel through ORN, but they are trivial, for this piece is quite attractive.
