It is noted that minted for the province of Prince Edward Island, the one cent piece (1 penny) was the only denomination produced for the province before it entered Canadien / Canadian Confederation in 1873, to be one of the provinces of the country CANADA !!! Please note its old age PATINA, and also the UNIQUE obverse design as this Prince Edward Island 1871 one cent coin bears the Latin phrase, "PARVA SUB INGENTI", or "The small beneath the great", since the island is smaller compared to the other provinces in Canada or countries. This 1871 one cent Prince Edward Island drawing illustrated by a large oak tree which represents England protecting the province, symbolized by three trees representing its three counties. Such original one cent 1871 extremely rare Prince Edward Island go for up to $1,500.00 and more in value. This original 1871 Prince Edward Island one cent is a great find, in very good to excellent condition for its antique age being well over 100 years old obviously! This intricate design is interesting and such rarity !!! Strong details remain throughout in this beautiful strike, resulting in a rare provincial 1871 Prince Edward Island one cent / penny coin in remarkable condition, a must have for collectors of Canada or international coins or start one; also marvelous gift !!!
