Rare albumen cabinet card photograph of Hunkpapa Lakota Sioux Indian Chief, Long Solider. Captured by photographer William Henry Jackson in 1871. Image measures 3.75'' x 5.25''; mounted to card measuring 4.25'' x 6.5''. Long Soldier signed the 1868 Fort Laramie Treaty and settled at Fort Laramie on the Standing Rock Reservation. He is well-known by his inclusion in the famous photograph of General G.A. Custer gathered with male and female friends on the steps of his porch. Some soiling & wear to image mount, else very good condition.
