The strike is well but not fully executed, and numerous small, undistracting abrasions confirm the MS63 grade level. More than 1 million Seated dollars were produced in 1871, a series record that would be broken the following year in 1872, the two highest business-strike mintages for the series. Census: 36 in 63, 38 finer (9/06).
