1871 Pattern Dime. Copper, reeded edge NGC PF65 RD
A razor sharp Gem that has rich coppery-gold color. Lustrous and immaculately preserved. Of the patterns of 1870, none is more impressive or popular than Longacre's design with the Indian princess (Liberty wearing a short feather bonnet). Judd-1081, struck on a reeded edge, copper planchet, has 13 stars around the margin and is combined with the STANDARD reverse of the series.

A series of patterns for the silver coins from the dollar to the half dime were struck in 1871 using the seated Liberty design of Longacre, with and without stars, with both the Standard and the regular die reverses.
