Two letters and a hunting sketch by the remarkable man Arthur MacMorrough Kavanagh born without arms or legs. Both letters on House of Commons headed paper and addressed to 'Devine' dated 3 May 1871 and 7 March 1876. Content relating to parliamentary business including an appointment for Borris Post Office. The hunting scene sketch and former letter pasted down on the reverse of the 1876 letter. Also with a copy of Born Without Limbs - A Biography of Achievement by Kenneth Kavanagh, which tells the story of Kavanagh. Born without arms and legs he led a life full to the extent of disbelief. Not only an MP he became a proficient horseman, learned to fish and shoot, all by adapting his stumps.
