<B>1871 3CS PR67 NGC.</B></I> Beautiful tawny-gold, electric-blue, and peach shades envelop this sharply struck and essentially immaculate Superb Gem. The three cent silver was vital to commerce during the 1850s, but by the 1870s, the denomination was driven from circulation by unbacked fractional currency. For the 1871, proofs and business strikes amounted to only 4,360 pieces.
