<B>1871 $3 AU58 NGC.</B></I> This is one of the many rare dates in the three dollar gold series, surviving from a mintage of just 1,300 coins. An additional 30 proofs were coined, and some of the earliest business strikes are confused with the real proofs. This example has reflective fields, but it is clearly a business strike representative, and a nice one at that.
