1871 25C Quarter Dollar, Judd-1100, Pollock-1236, Low R.7, PR64 Brown NGC. Longacre's Indian Princess obverse, paired with the regular dies reverse of 1870. This design was apparently implemented by William Barber, as Longacre died suddenly on New Year's Day of 1869. Struck in copper with a reeded edge. A lovely near-Gem, the present offering is moderately reflective in the fields, and the surfaces display a pleasing caramel-brown color, with much underlying rose and violet patina. A lintmark (as struck) on the reverse near IN identifies this example. A solitary hair-thin mark near the beak is all that denies a finer grade.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
