<B>1871 $10 AU50 NGC.</B></I> Jeff Garrett and Ron Guth (2006) remark that the 1871 ten dollar, with a mintage of 1,790 business strikes, is a rare date with few survivors, most of which are in XF or lower grades. The AU50 example in this lot displays yellow-gold surfaces with dapples of orange. Considerable luster is present in the recesses, and the design elements exhibit nice definition.
