<B>1871 $1 PR66 Cameo PCGS.</B></I> A generous 960 proof dollars were minted in 1871, and a relatively large number (roughly 330 specimens) have been certified by PCGS and NGC. Only about 40 pieces have been designated as Cameos.<BR> This Premium Gem Cameo ranks among the four finest certified by both services combined. Magnificent toning graces both sides. Medium intensity cobalt-blue, lavender, and golden-tan patina surrounds a swath of untoned area on the central obverse, and a couple of much smaller areas on the reverse. The strike is uniformly sharp, and a couple of tiny marks are visible on each side.
