<B>1870-S<G$1> MS61 ANACS.</B></I> This is a pleasing Mint State example with essentially full design elements are pleasing yellow-gold surfaces. Both sides have soft, frosty luster. A few faint hairlines and tiny abrasions are evident, yet the eye appeal is excellent. Only 3,000 of these coins were produced. In fact, the San Francisco Mint had a limited coinage during the year, with a production total of just 50,000 dimes; 1,004,000 half dollars; 3,000 gold dollars; 16,000 quarter eagles; 17,000 half eagles; 8,000 eagles; and 982,000 double eagles. An extremely small and unknown mintage of half dimes, silver dollars, and three dollar gold pieces were also coined.
