1870-S 10C MS64 PCGS. The San Francisco Mint in 1870 produced several legendary rarities. The 1870-S half dime and three dollar are unique; while fewer than a dozen 1870-S dollars are known. In contrast, the 1870-S half dollar and double eagle are common, while examples of the date in other denominations range from semi-key to key. The 1870-S dime is one of those that can be considered a key. Its mintage of 50,000 pieces is the second lowest from the mint in the Seated dime series, and most have seen a good deal of circulation. This piece is mostly white with an overlay of hazy toning. The fields, particularly on the obverse, are semi-prooflike. The denomination is weak, as always, and the head detail is a bit flat, as usual.

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
