1870 S$1 Dollar, Judd-1018, Pollock-1153, R.7, PR64 NGC. A near-Gem example of Longacre's Indian Princess design, here seen in the Dollar format. The obverse features Liberty seated, left (facing) hand grasping a pole with Phrygian cap on top, right hand resting on a globe, conjoined flags behind. The reverse is of the regular design for the Seated Dollar. Struck in aluminum with a reeded edge. The surfaces are a bit hazy with a light accent of golden and blue toning on each side, which slightly subdues the brightness of the aluminum. Identifiable by a tiny mark in the field just to the right of star 3.Ex: University Park Sale, (Steve Ivy, 3/81), lot 1510, where it realized $3,100. Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. On occasion eBay live bid software cannot keep up with the pace of the auctions where 4-5 lots per minute can hammer down, so we recommend that you place a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Live carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
