<B>1870 H10C Half Dime, Judd-818, Pollock-907, Low R.7, PR66 Brown NGC.</B></I> The obverse shows a figure of Liberty seated facing left, with the legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA around and the date 1870 below. Liberty supports a shield with her right hand and holds an olive branch in her left. A liberty pole stands behind the shield, and a scroll inscribed with LIBERTY crosses the shield. Design attributed to William Barber, according to Pollock. The reverse is the regular issue for Liberty Seated half dimes. Struck in copper with a plain edge. The pristine surfaces have a layer of deep purple-brown and electric-blue patina over both sides.
