1870-CC S$1 --Cleaned--ANACS. AU58 Details. The 1870-CC Seated dollars are notable in the history of U.S. numismatics as the first coins struck at the fabled Carson City Mint in Nevada, which was completed by December 1869. Although 1869-dated dies were sent by the Philadelphia Mint to Carson City, no 1869-CC coins of any denomination are known to have been struck. This piece shows a few light abrasions and field chatter consistent with a short spate in circulation, but despite ANACS' caution the surfaces are pleasing, even if a bit bright.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
