1870-CC 50C VF30 PCGS. The highpoints are moderately worn, but some of the design elements, including ER in LIBERTY and the eagle's neck feathers, appear to have been incompletely struck to begin with. Indeed, Randy Wiley and Bill Bugert (1993) allude to many 1870-CC half dollars not being well struck. Medium rose-gray toning in the fields yields to light-gray color on the highpoints. Severe surface marks are not seen on either side, but one small linear abrasion near Liberty's temple area is noted for the sake of complete accuracy. A couple of wisps of drapery are visible under Liberty's elbow. Wiley and Bugert write that: "Our research indicates that about 14% of all 1870-CC half dollars have partial drapery."

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
