1870 50C Standard Silver Half Dollar, Judd-929A
1870 50C Standard Silver Half Dollar, Judd-929A, Pollock-1048, R.7, PR65 Red and Brown PCGS. Liberty is seated facing left, and supports a shield inscribed LIBERTY with her right hand. Her left hand holds an olive sprig. A Liberty pole rises from behind her arm. The Standard Silver reverse leaves room for the date below the denomination, however, the date is instead on the obverse exergue. An unusual design pairing that lacks both UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and IN GOD WE TRUST. LIBERTY has raised letters, which distinguishes the design from Judd-929. Struck in copper with a reeded edge. A lovely and well struck piece with brick-red and sky-blue colors. A tiny planchet flaw (as made) between NT in CENTS provides a pedigree marker. Population: 1 in 65 Brown, none finer (10/03).From the Frank O. Fredericks Collection, Part III. Important notice: Heritage usually auctions material at the rate of 200-250 lots per hour. On some occasions eBay Live bid software or the Internet may not be able to keep up with the pace of the auction. We recommend placing a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Occasionally the auctioneer may eliminate or reject an eBay Live bid, and the auctioneer may also reopen a lot after the close of the eBay live bidding (usually because we missed an audience bid), and may reject your bid even if it shows you as the winning bidder. By bidding via eBay Live, you agree that Heritage may award the lot to another bidder at its sole discretion under the circumstances described above or any other reasonable circumstances. Also please note that all Heritage lots purchased through eBay Live carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions before you bid.
