<B>1870 3CS MS64 PCGS.</B></I> Three thousand (3,000) circulation strike three cent silver pieces were produced in 1870, and approximately 100 examples have been certified by PCGS and NGC, mostly in about Uncirculated and the lower Mint State grades. We present in this lot a sharply impressed near-Gem (save for the usual softness in the upper middle part of the shield) that displays lustrous, dappled gold and tan surfaces. Well preserved throughout. What appears to be a strike through is located at 9 o'clock on the reverse border.
