<B>1870 25C Standard Silver Quarter Dollar, Judd-888, Pollock-987, R.5, PR65 PCGS.</B></I> Liberty faces right and wears a cap ornamented with three stars. UNITED STATES OF AMERICA surrounds her; a scroll with IN GOD WE TRUST is below. The reverse has 25 CENTS 1870 in the center, surrounded by a wreath of cotton and corn. This fairly common Standard Silver pattern is known on both thin (77-grain) and thick (84-grain) planchets. This appears to be a thin planchet variant, although the plastic slab prevents certainty. Struck in silver with a reeded edge. A thin layer of milky-white patina is seen on each side, and a dark toning spot is present near 11 o'clock on the reverse border.
