1870 $20 MS62 PCGS. It is seldom that this date is found in any grade, let alone Mint State. It is a surprising condition rarity with just 42 pieces certified by NGC and PCGS in all Mint State grades. The finest that either service has seen is MS63, and only three have been graded as such. This MS62 is next in line, and the present piece in its older green-label holder as all the eye appeal necessary for the next higher grade level. Both sides are fully detailed and the obverse and reverse surfaces have splendid orange-gold color with frosty luster. There are few marks of any kind to be seen, even with the assist of a magnifier. Population: 7 in 62, 2 finer (6/07).

Coin Engraver: James B.
