1870 10C Dime, Judd-826, Pollock-916, R.7. PR67 NGC. This is William Barber's Liberty Seated design. A seated representative of Liberty faces left, her flowing gown preventing study of her perch. Behind is a free standing pole topped with a Liberty Cap. Liberty's right hand rests upon a shield with a scroll inscribed LIBERTY. The statutory legend follows the border, and the date is below. The reverse has the denomination, 10 CENTS, with a wreath composed of corn and cotton. Above is the word STANDARD. Struck in silver with a plain edge. This is a wonderful Gem with outstanding heather color with peripheral sea-green, gold, and iridescent toning. Less than a dozen examples of this variety are known.
