1870 $1 PR64 PCGS. CAC. Dramatically toned in orange, cobalt-blue, and mauve-red. The strike is intricate, and the surfaces are essentially void of contact. A tiny white spot is noted on the field near Liberty's legs. Scarcer than suggested by its reported mintage of 1,000 pieces. Perhaps the Mint melted unsold sets, as was the practice during the 1860s. Population: 48 in 64, 22 finer (3/08).
From The Good Humor Collection.

Coin Engraver: Christian Gobrecht

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
