<B>1870 $1 MS62 NGC.</B></I> Since silver dollars were worth more in bullion value than their face value until after 1873, serious collecting of new silver dollar issues likely started only afterward. While circulated 1870 Seated dollars are plentiful, according to Bowers, Mint State pieces are rare. This coin is silver-white with a faint blush of gold, and has the appearance of a finer grade despite numerous small and undistracting abrasions.
