<B>1869 G$1 MS67 PCGS.</B></I> The 1869 had a business strike mintage of 5,900 pieces, and is generally available in AU and in the lower Uncirculated grades. Higher Mint State grades are considerably more challenging, especially in Premium Gem and above. Fewer than 15 examples have been certified in MS67 (the grade of the coin in the current lot) by PCGS and NGC combined, and only five specimens finer.<BR> This piece jumps out at the viewer, displaying as it does beautiful brass-gold surfaces that radiate vibrant luster and sharply delineated design elements. Close examination reveals no mentionable flaws on this truly breath-taking superb example.
